The Laborbegegnungen are a field of experimentation: The series is themed on the initial sounds and movements of personalities who meet here often for the first time. You can call it curated jam session, and beyond that improvised music, compared to a session from the jazz field, has many more backgrounds in which MOMENT actors are active: Current positions by composers, choreographers, current artistic events and non-musical topics from culture and science are reflected here in real time.
What is actually modern art? We have been trying to answer that question for years now. Is it a reflection of our surroundings, and our history? Commemorated science or raw nature, just the way we perceive it? How does improvisation differ from art? Perhaps what is important is a sound per se, that gets created at the moment of playing an instrument? Is movement a visual representation of sound? What story do we want to tell with all the skills we have learned as artists?
